More and more insurance companies are advocating the use of professional alarm services to remove risks from personnel and as a stop-loss in emergencies.

Traditionally, some organisations have delegated the task of alarm responses to one of their colleagues or staff, but this raises serious issues.

  • Is reasonable to ask employees to respond to alarm activations late at night or at the weekend?
  • Is acting as a key holder part of their contract?
  • Have they been trained to a level which will allow them to safely and efficiently deal with the alarm problem?
  • Have you shown, as an employer, that everything has been done to protect your employee in these circumstances? Ie if your staff member is knocked unconscious or worse, when will he be found?

Alarm Responses involve a trained security guard attending your premises to investigate why an alarm has activated. This saves you the hassle and safety risk in getting out of bed in the middle of the night and doing it yourself. Our guards will conduct an external check of your property, physically checking the property and looking for signs of a break-in or attempted break-in. If keys are supplied we will perform an internal check, and reset the alarm before departure.

The guard will report their findings and leave a docket report at the premises. If the activation is the result of a confirmed break-in or other incident, our guard can stay at the site while waiting for key holder or police.

Don’t risk your property with a security company run by one man and a mobile phone: What if he is already on a call, in an area with no reception, or has finished work early? Your security is not something you should take chances on.

Our First Line Maintenance (FLM) service provides you with initial technological assistance to resolve basic requests.

Our qualified First Line Maintenance technicians and uniformed armed guards are able to complete the following range of duties:

  • Resolving ATM faults that require no parts or tools
  • Replacing consumables where required
  • Replenishing cash as required, using cash already on-site
  • Restoring communications to the ATM if the unit is down
  • Checking ATM fascia and surrounds for the presence of any unauthorised devices
  • General cleaning of the ATM and surrounds or bunkers.
  • Reporting on all ATM issues requiring your attention.

To summarise our service, our Security Officers attend your premises on the day/s nominated by you to collect the banking and then deposit it that same day for crediting to your nominated accounts. We can then deliver and change requirements back to your premises in a time effective manner. Do you have multiple sites and require transporting of valuables or cash between sites rather than or including bank? That also can be done.

 We utilise security satchels with unique one time numbered security seals verified at departure and upon receipt insuring that the contents are not tampered with.

You can be sure of the integrity of your banking whilst in our custody because all collected cash is immediately secured inside mounted custom safes that are built-in to our customised unmarked vehicles.  These are fitted with CIT specific security devices, GPS tracking and comprehensive communication systems and custom fitted for the Cash in Transit industry. Externally they look like any other vehicle.  Of course, all money in our custody is fully insured.

Our receipt system is quick, simple and easy, meeting all requirements specified for Audit purposes and insuring that guards are on your premises for a minimum amount of time reducing staff exposure.

Assigning such an important and potentially dangerous task to employees is no longer an acceptable practice and carries common law, OHS&W and workers compensation risks.

For a number of reasons, some businesses may require a uniformed service & of course this can be accommodated. Prior to commencement of the service a full site and risk assessment will be conducted to determine the safest approach and method to complete the transactions for the safety of your staff and ours. 

 

Slightly different to our Security Guard service, this type of security involves a uniformed security guard helping to keep the peace and ensure your party, function or event runs smoothly. The length of shifts really depends on your requirements and budget. We can tailor a solution to meet your needs, however, our minimum shift length is 4 hours.

Event security is the use of guards to control crowds at large events or functions. The event may or may not involve alcohol.  

Event guards generally perform some or all of the following roles;

  • Keeping a list of invited guests to insure no gate crashers.
  • Check identification and log people’s attendance
  • Work with event coordinators to ensure the safety of guests
  • Co-ordinate in the case of emergencies such as evacuations
  • Provide for VIP’s.

Prior to the event or function, our Operations Manager will contact you to discuss any particular requirements and may visit the site to conduct a security and risk assessment.

  • Guards are issued with radios and bodycams (where required).
  • Guards are generally in full uniform and equipped with PPE if required. (Exceptions exist where a suit is more appropriate).
  • All guards are RSA qualified and when necessary carry approved proper person children’s check.
  • All guards are first aid qualified.
  • All guards operate under our crowd control insurance. Beware of companies without public liability insurance or without crowd control listed on their public liability certificate. Under current OH&S, liability can fall back onto the organisers if something goes wrong and insurances aren’t in place.

We do not offer a breathalyzer service for liability reasons. Please do not ask.

Event guards generally work 2 up for safety and liability. Minimum hours is 4 per guard.

We recommend as a guideline 1 additional guard per 100 attendees but this can vary according to the location and many other factors. In many cases the liquor licensing sergeant will specify what he or she feels is an appropriate number.

Our licensed and trained security guards are also covered under our Public Liability insurance policy. Without a security presence you may be leaving yourself open to possible litigation should an incident occur. However, should an issue arise while we are around, your legal liability becomes severely reduced.

When the event is over, we can assist in shutting the party down to ensure your guests move on safely. We even keep an eye on people as
they leave, looking out for intoxicated guests about to get behind the wheel, people blocking roads and paths and causing dangerous traffic situations.

If you are worried about uninvited people causing problems, intoxicated guests starting fights, and you’d rather enjoy the night than spending it worrying about your house or the venue being trashed, NSR is the only answer to your Party, Function and Event security needs. NSR also offers a breathalyzer service where we can test guests before they leave the venue.
 

Costs

Our Party, Function and Event service is invoiced on an hourly rate.
Discounts are available for large functions requiring three or more security guards.

For private parties (birthdays etc), there is a two-guard minimum (for the safety of our security guards), and as a general guide, we recommend one guard per 100 guests.

Our mobile patrols are a highly effective visual and physical deterrent, used to move unauthorised people off site and deter theft.

We can devise internal and external patrol routes to act as an effective deterrent, and these will be carried out randomly, so that the pattern of patrols remains ambiguous for any unwanted visitors.

 Our fully trained, NSW licensed mobile patrol officers wear the highly recognisable J&J Security uniform and drive our fully marked vehicles, which again act as a strong visual deterrent to unauthorised people on site, therefore, reducing the likelihood of theft and vandalism.

As well as deterring criminal activity, mobile patrols remain alert to the threat of fire, flood or other damaging incidents that affect your business.

Patrols are logged using the widely recognised Uniguard Patrol Management System. This system stores dates and times of patrol visits in an encrypted manner that cannot be altered. If the report shows that a guard attended, then you know that the guard was in fact there and not off drinking coffee while filling in the attendance reports.

Our Professional Mobile Security Officers can provide you with a Keyholding and Alarm Response Service, or a secure premises 'Lock up and Unlocks' service which can include turning off all unnecessary electrical equipment, securing all windows and points of entry plus all fire exits. We will perform a lockdown of the premises and fully alarm the premises.

Our Professional Mobile Patrol Service provides a complete low cost security solution ensuring stability and continuity of your business which in these harsh economic times is paramount in your business thinking. Also known as ‘Static Guarding’, our Security Guard service involves a uniformed security guard staying at your premises for a set period. Unlike a mobile patrol, where a guard comes and goes during the night, these guards do not leave the premises.

The length of shifts really depend on your requirements and budget. Security guards can be rostered to work over a 24 hour period, and their duties can vary, depending on your requirements. Whether you want a guard to stay overnight, or a guard to be stationed at a gate or front entry during business hours, we have the right guard for your premises.

Our guards not only undergo government-accredited training through an approved training organisation, but they must also pass our in-house training requirements and inductions. They must also undergo stringent police background checks. Special consideration is given to guards who hold Blue Cards in Construction Site Safety and Working with Children.

Having someone stay at your site for an entire shift, be it 4 hours or 24 hours, means that there is an almost zero possibility that anyone will attempt to gain access to the premises. The guards can be highly visible, not only visually deterring people from entering the premises, but also physically preventing them from doing so.

At construction sites, the guards can prevent valuable copper and other building materials from being stolen, keep an eye on contractors tools and equipment and ensure that no one accesses the site after-hours. This also has Workplace Health and Safety advantages, in that while you may be held liable for anyone trespassing on your site and injuring themselves, the presence of our guard diminishes this risk.

Our guards can also stay at the site during the day while contractors are working, keeping track of who is coming and going and ensuring that only authorised persons enter the premises. The guard can check deliveries, sight contractor Blue Cards and ensure that no person takes equipment off-site without authorisation.

At shopping centres and other venues, our guards can take on more of a ‘concierge’ type role, assisting customers as well as providing a physical presence to dissuade would-be shoplifters, loiterers and vandals. Security guards can conduct regular walk-around patrols or be stationed in a particular area.

Our guards are rarely working alone. Even though there may only be one guard stationed at your premises, our fleet of 8 patrol vehicles conduct regular welfare checks of the premises to check on their safety. The guards are also in constant communication with the Operations Centre via two-way radio or mobile phone.
